The Mustangs have started the season 1-2 after losses to 2 top ranked football teams. The lone win was at home versus Iowa City West who were also receiving votes in the polls. Gage Heffernan was voted MVC Player of the Week for the the IC West game. He had 2 touchdowns and played great on defense. The team has lofty goals and plans on working to achieve these goals.
